Truly Nerdy

So I'm writing these culminating papers, and they are a lot of work. They are also made up of a lot of sources. I've always hated compiling my sources and writing up my references page because I'm afraid I'll leave something out or stick something in out of a alphabetical order without realizing it. Since my sources are a mix of printed out database articles and physical books, it's hard to organize them.

I also had a problem organizing my notes, since some of them were in the margins of printouts, and some were on seperate pieces of paper. I ended up buying some notecards in different colors and began keeping notes/quotations on certains subjects/main points on different colored cards. Then one evening I decided to get a jump start on my references page and made up a card for each source and numbered the cards so they'd be easier to cite on my subject notecards and so that I could alphabetize them as I went. I did 99% of this without really thinking of it - it just seemed sensible.

It was only once I'd bought a $1.99 plastic card box to keep them organized that I realized I'd made my own little card catalog. That alone should be a testament to my librarianess!
